Monachil
Monachil is a municipality in the province of Granada, Spain. As of 2010, it has a population of 7294 inhabitants. It lies around 8 km from the city of Granada. It borders the municipalities of HuĂ©tor Vega, Cenes de la Vega, Pinos Genil, GĂĽĂ©jar Sierra, DĂlar, La Zubia and Cájar.
Within the municipality of Monachil there are three distinct population centres: the old village, often referred to as Monachil Pueblo, the newer Barrio de la Vega and Pradollano, the resort village at the Sierra Nevada Ski Station.
