Soldeu is a town in the parish of Canillo, Andorra. It comes alive in the winter months as a skiing town. The skiing is on the Grand Valira ski resort, the largest in the Pyrenees with 193 km of runs. According to The Sunday Times, Soldeu is one of the three best budget skiing resorts in Europe. It can be accessed from Encamp, Canillo, El Tarter, Soldeu, Grau Roig, Pas de la Casa and Porte des Neiges. The Soldeu Ski School has a large number of primary English speaking instructors and has won awards for the quality of its tuition.
The village is at 1800 metres and the top of the ski area is at 2580 metres. The gondola from the village rises to 2250 meters where the ski and board schools as well as restaurants are located.
